There is no greater joy than helping a family to grow – I realized that 15 years ago, when I began my first egg donor cycle. Unfortunately, as can happen for so many women, I had a horrible experience – but I loved what I was doing for another family. That’s where my passion comes from.

I decided to pivot my entire life in that moment, moving away from accounting and into the world of fertility. I worked as an egg donor coordinator for years, and then co-owned an agency. In 2020 I left the ownership of that agency to pursue a more personal approach and better align with my vision for surrogacy with Reproductive Options.

Here, I know that each and every surrogate will be treated with the respect and care that they deserve.

I’ve had my hands in a variety of worlds; from corporate America, to owning a restaurant, through to auto parts. But nothing has brought me happiness the way that surrogacy has. Between running a surrogacy agency for 8 years, and having my own 3 incredible journeys, I realized quickly that helping people is what drives me – and there is nothing better than helping a family grow.

I consider myself lucky to have found surrogacy. It’s impacted my life in more ways than one: between the lifelong connections I’ve made, the career fulfilment it’s given me, and the way it was able to help my family achieve our education goals during my journeys. The surrogacy world has been a blessing that has allowed me to put my empathetic heart to work.

My husband jokes that I’m kind to a fault – but that’s what enables me to make a difference, and truly help surrogates and intended parents in their journey. I’m so excited to help continue the great work that Reproductive Options is doing.

I stumbled into surrogacy a little more than a decade ago – beginning my first journey, and giving birth to a beautiful baby boy. While the result was incredible and I loved helping a family grow, the journey with my agency was unfortunately less than desirable. That’s what pulled my heart to becoming an intake manager, because I wanted better for other surrogates. I’ve learned a lot over the four journeys that I’ve completed, and my 8 years working as a Surrogate Case Manager. My mission has truly become to ensure that every woman entering the surrogacy process feels supported, informed, and empowered – that’s why I’m so excited to be part of Reproductive Options to continue the ethical, heart-led work already being done.

I’m lucky to have a family of my own, with an incredibly supportive husband, a daughter in college – and my 90lb Golden mix rescue pup, Copper! I look forward to providing support and guidance to all of our surrogates and parents from beginning to baby.

Surrogate Case Manager

Amanda Arttus
Born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, I’ve lived in many places due to my husband’s career in the U.S. Navy, but we ultimately returned home to raise our two children, Aiden and Mia. Our family also includes our rescue dog, Maya, and two cats, Callie and Nala.

My passion for surrogacy began over a decade ago when my best friend wasn’t sure if she could carry a pregnancy. Fortunately, she did end up getting pregnant and was blessed with a little boy without any significant complications. – but that feeling of wanting to give someone the joy of a child never left, and a few years later, I became a surrogate myself. My first journey resulted in the birth of a healthy baby boy, and I remain close with the family to this day. My second journey brought my carrying journey to a close, but not my desire to help others build their families.

Since then, I’ve worked in surrogacy professionally and became a certified postpartum doula, using that knowledge to support others. I’m currently training as a bereavement doula and enjoy spending my free time volunteering as a NICU baby cuddler. Now, as a Surrogacy Case Manager, I’m honored to support both surrogates and intended parents, guiding them through every step of this life-changing journey.
